HTES Grants and Teachers Wish Lists
The parents and staff of HTES are working hard to ensure that none of the special activities, programs offered by the school, or classroom instruction capabilities are affected by state wide budget cuts. To provide the means for ongoing success, a committee has been formed to focus on research, application to and obtaining of local, state and federal grants.
Horseshoe Trails Elementary School and its PTO have been selected to receive a 2008 Lowe’s Toolbox for Education grant for $2600 for the Organic Garden project. The grant is from the Lowe’s Charitable and Educational Foundation. The Toolbox for Education grants are for school improvement projects that can be completed within one year of receiving the grant. HTES will put the funds to great use to help teach the science standards to students.
Often times corporations offer a variety of grants available to educational institutions. Please take a moment to research the possibility of grants from companies your family may be involved in. In addition, if you would like to assist the committee with grant research, please contact Kim Snell at kimsnell@qwest.net.
