Committee Leads for 2008 - 2009
Do you like to shop? How about organize parties and luncheons? Do you have artistic talents, or do you like the thrill of researching ideas for free
money?
If you answered yes to any of those questions, we may have a perfect volunteer job for YOU!
We are always looking for help, and try to make your time volunteering fun by assigning you to tasks that benefit the school, yet you actually enjoy. You may only have one hour a day, one hour a week or one hour a month.... what ever your schedule, we can use your help!

Fundraising
Committee Co-Chairs: Liz Covert, Sheila Spina
The fundraising committee is responsible for identifying, communicating, organizing and managing all fundraising events and family activities coordinated by the PTO.
- Prepares an annual fundraising calendar
- Forecasts anticipated revenue by fundraiser
- Communicates with existing and potential event sponsors on behalf of HTES
- Ensures all necessary supplies/etc. are available for family activities coordinated by the PTO
GLScrip Committee Lead: Terri Carmen
Responsible for preparing a schedule of sales of pre-purchased GLScrip cards, and ordering and distribution of online or paper monthly orders.
BoxTops Committee Lead: Liz Covert
Responsible for collecting, cutting and submitting box tops collected by the school.
Free Money Programs Committee lead - open
Responsible for handling all aspects of the following programs: Escrip, Grocery Stores, Target Red Card, Qwest, Good Search.com
Spirit Nights Committee Lead - open
Responsible for coordinating a minimum of one family spirit night event per quarter. Ideas include but not limited to: Family Art Night, Free Bingo Night, Annual Family Fun Run, Girls Night Out Marketplace, Family Ice Cream Night, Dine-N-Play Nights
Silent Auction Committee Lead - open
Responsible for working with sponsors and gathering donations for a silent auction.
Birthday Book Club Committee Lead: Mary Lou Doerr
Responsible for communicating, organizing and running monthly Book Club events to raise money for the library.
Book Fair Committee Lead Nathalie Ramioulle
Responsible for organizing all aspects of a Fall and a Spring Book Fair.
Read-a-thon Committee Lead - open
Responsible for communication regarding the read-a-thon, and coordinating distribution and collection of collateral and money.
Annual Hoedown- Committee Leads: Liz Covert and Sheila Spina
Responsible for overseeing all aspects of the annual hoedown, including (but not limited too!) the following areas: Volunteers, Food and Beverage, Games and Prizes, Tickets,Activities, Communication and Signs
Information
Committee Chair Krissi Sayegh
The information committee is responsible for ensuring effective and efficient communication of important school information
- Prepares and distributes all meeting communication
- Ensures information on the PTO website is timely and accurate
Directories Committee Lead: Kathy Butterfield-Schmidtke
Responsible for ensuring legal compliance, completeness, design and distribution of the school directory.
Yearbook/DVD Committee Lead: Jen Schwartz
Responsible for gathering of content, formatting and coordination of printing and distribution of the annual school yearbook.
PTO Website Committee Lead: Kathy Butterfield-Schmidtke
Responsible for creating and maintaining a user-friendly and informative PTO web site
Finance
Committee Chair Carrie Fisher
The finance committee is responsible for maintaining ongoing knowledge of district and community information that may impact the financial status of the school.
- Prepares a schedule of known community events (ie: votes)
- Provides the ability for parents of the school to be informed and active voters
Parent Awareness Group Committee Lead: Kathy Butterfield-Schmidtke
Responsible for participating in community events that may impact the school, and rallying troops in support of causes when needed.
District Information Committee Lead: Jen Schwartz
Responsible for participating in district events and meetings that may impact the school, and rallying troops in support of causes when needed.
Grants Committee Lead: Kim Snell
Responsible for researching and applying for applicable grants for the school.
Community
Committee Chair Jeannine Jacob
The community committee is responsible for creating, growing and maintaining a strong sense of community between the children, parents and teachers and administrators of the school.
- Creates a unified Room Parent Organization to ensure consistency in communication and relationships amongst classrooms.
- Provides volunteer support for the school as needed
Room Parent Organization: Committee Lead: Jeannine Jacob
Responsible for creating and managing a strong Room Parent Organization dedicated to effective communication between parents and teachers.
Campus Eyes Committee Lead: Regina Davis
Responsible for ensuring volunteer coverage in assisting with the safety of children during morning drop offs. (8:30am 9am)
Health Screenings Committee Lead Maryann Bloomfield
Responsible for working with the school nurse to organize the annual health screenings of all children, including volunteers and lunch arrangements.
Scheduled for August 28th all day, and August 29th half day
School Pictures Committee Lead:
Responsible for organizing volunteers for the Fall and Spring school picture days.
AIMS Testing Committee Lead
Responsible for organizing volunteers and snack collection, organization and distribution for all days of AIMS testing.
Jr, Achievement Day Committee Lead: Jennifer Chrumra
Responsible for aiding in the gathering of Jr. Achievement Day parent volunteers by communicating about the program, and assisting parents in training and preparation.
Hospitality/Teacher Appreciation Committee Co-Leads: Jen Chmura & Michelle Hoffman
Responsible for organizing appreciation tokens and luncheons for staff and volunteers throughout the year.
Mimi Museum Committee Co-Leads: Lisa Pulley, Susan Musick
Responsible for organizing mini museum teaching information throughout the year
