• The State of Arizona is ranked 49th out of 50 on per pupil spending.
• However, we are ranked 24th in the nation academically.
• This means we get more for our dollar then any other state.
• Arizona schools are funded almost entirely on federal funds, these funds are drastically being cut.
• Property taxes funding local schools are some of the lowest in the country.
• CCUSD is one of only 3 school districts with 100% excelling schools

HTES 4th Annual Hoe Down

Dear Horseshoe Trails Parents,

The planning of our 4th Annual Spring Hoe Down is now underway! The Annual Hoe Down is one of the largest fundraisers the PTO sponsors throughout the year. Money generated from the Hoe Down goes toward classroom materials & supplies that are not in the school’s budget, as well as saving programs that may be affected by next year’s budget cuts.

Some examples of what the HTES PTO has used the money for in the past include supporting our library’s collection of AR books & tests, adding shade structures around the campus, grounds upkeep, buying SMARTboards for classrooms and many miscellaneous items that come up throughout the year.

This will be a night of fun for the whole family. We invite you to come & see what a great community builder this event is. Some things to look forward to:

• Dinner
• Games
• Classroom basket raffles
• Inflatable Slide
• Magic Show

…and NEW this year – put a warrant our for your favorite person’s arrest and watch them get locked up in the Kindergarten Pod Jail! All varmints and outlaws should be on the lookout!
